Electromagnetic Flowmeters Support a New RO Water Plant in Antigua
Project Overview
A new reverse osmosis (RO) water plant in Antigua required reliable flow measurement at several points in its treatment process. This was the project team’s first time using Supmea flowmeters. The instruments needed to operate continuously in a humid environment and connect with the plant’s monitoring system.

- Compatibility with different pipeline sizes
- Standard communication outputs for system integration
Solution Provided
Three LDG-SUP electromagnetic flowmeters were selected for inline pipeline installation.
The selected configuration included 4–20 mA, pulse, and RS485 outputs with a 24 VDC power supply. PTFE lining, titanium electrodes, Class 150 flange connections, and an IP65 enclosure were selected for the application.
Supmea also provided model selection and online installation guidance to support mounting, wiring, and system integration.

Results and Benefits
The installation established continuous flow monitoring across the new RO water plant.
According to customer feedback, manual inspection frequency changed from once per day to once per week. Operators can now access flow data more efficiently and reduce their dependence on routine manual checks.
