Flow and Pressure Monitoring for a Municipal Water Project in Ecuador

Project Overview

A municipal water project in Ecuador required real-time monitoring of instantaneous flow, cumulative flow, and pipeline pressure.

Solution Provided

The project adopted one LDG-SUP-A100 electromagnetic flowmeter and one SUP-P300 pressure transmitter.

The electromagnetic flowmeter was installed on an 8-inch (DN200) outlet pipeline carrying tap water. The recorded operating conditions included:

  • Temperature: 50–104°F (10–40°C)
  • Pressure: Approximately 72.5 psi (0.5 MPa)
  • Flow range: Approximately 247–2,466 gpm (56–560 m³/h)
  • Flow velocity range: 1.6–16.4 ft/s (0.5–5 m/s)
  • Communication: 4–20 mA and RS485
