FAQ

How does a vortex flow meter work?

The flow meter uses the Karman vortex principle. When fluid passes through the bluff body inside the meter, vortices are generated at a frequency proportional to the flow velocity, allowing accurate flow measurement.

What output and communication options are available?

The meter supports pulse output, 4–20 mA analog output, RS485 communication, and optional HART communication for integration with automation systems.

Why does this vortex flow meter require temperature and pressure compensation?

Temperature and pressure changes affect the density of gases and steam. The integrated compensation function automatically corrects measurement values based on real-time operating conditions to improve accuracy.

Can this meter measure steam mass flow directly?

Yes. With integrated temperature and pressure compensation, the meter can calculate compensated flow values for saturated steam, superheated steam, and gas applications without requiring separate external sensors.

What warranty do you provide?

Please refer to BayMeters Warranty Policy or contact our sales team for warranty details.
